Apply Healing Masks

If you want to hydrate and still heal your skin from acne, try applying masks a couple of times in a week. You could try yogurt and honey mask or cinnamon and honey mask. This, together with other essential oils will dehydrate your skin and fight acne-causing bacteria and fungi. Mix a tablespoon of yogurt with another one for honey and apply it to your face, concentrating on the areas prone to acne breakouts such as hairline and jawline. Wait for 10 minutes before you rinse it and then pat your skin dry.

Cinnamon and honey mask can be prepared by mixing two tablespoons of raw honey, one tablespoon of coconut oil, and half a tablespoon of cinnamon. Smooth the mask over your face, avoiding the eyes as cinnamon can irritate them. In about ten minutes, rinse it off or remove with a damp cloth. This mask helps to fight acne as a combination of cinnamon and honey has antibacterial, antioxidant and inflammatory properties. You can consider adding some drops of tea tree oil in either of the above masks in case you have an active acne breakout.

Exfoliate Regularly

Acne can be as a result of dead skin or clogged pores, necessitating you to regularly but gently remove the buildup. You need to look for something gritty such as brown sugar or sea salt, and a base such as honey or coconut oil. The gritty ingredients are for unplugging pores and removing dead skin, while the base ingredients are for fighting the causes of acne such as fungi, bacteria and candida overgrowth. Mix the ingredients of your choice and rub the mixture on your skin gently in a circular motion. Use a damp cloth to remove it and rinse your face well before patting it dry.
